The challenge.
Bringing up an edge location joins many decisions: compute, virtualisation, management, network connectivity, security, power and the physical environment. The work must arrive as an operable whole.
Why Neurulus fit.
An edge deployment needs more than a compute specification. GTPL’s proof of concept required virtualisation, cybersecurity, networking, management and physical support to operate together. Neurulus fit that requirement as an integrated platform deployment.
How the platform addressed it.
Neurulus deployed the FlexEdge integrated micro data centre for GTPL Hathway’s proof of concept. A 64-core compute node with 256 GB of memory and 2 TB of solid-state storage sat within a wider stack of virtualisation, management, network monitoring and cybersecurity.
Core switching, a firewall, rack, power backup, fire suppression and console equipment supported the operating environment. Integration, configuration, testing and commissioning brought these elements into one working proof-of-concept system.
In the deployment
- FlexEdge integrated micro data centre stack.
- Compute node with 64 processing cores, 256 GB memory and 2 TB solid-state storage.
- Management, virtualisation, network management and monitoring.
- Core switching, firewall, rack, power backup, fire suppression and console equipment.
- Integration, configuration, testing and commissioning.
The outcome.
GTPL gained an integrated environment in which to evaluate the edge workload. Compute and software were commissioned with the networking, security and physical infrastructure needed around them.
A complete proof-of-concept environment
The platform brought the edge stack together for evaluation.
Compute with its operating support
Virtualisation, management, monitoring and connectivity accompanied the compute node.
Commissioned as a system
Integration and testing covered the combined deployment.
